As most of you know, I'm not from this cold wintery wonderland and sometimes I can get a little cranky when it's below 32 degrees for more than a few days but I now have something to look forward to in those frigid periods. Last Saturday when I was in one of my "I HATE THE COLD" moods, Bob said let's go ice skating on our lake! Hmmm, my first thought was fear "YIKES we'll fall through the ice!" Then he pointed out that it had been at about 20 degrees for the last 5 days. The kids were all excited so we went down to see how it would be. I had never seen anything so magical! The ice was sort of a sparkly blue gray and as shiny and slick as a mirror! The kids took off like they'd been skating their whole lives! Much better than they had just a few weeks earlier in a rink. Bob even went out there! Unfortunately I didn't have any skates so I was sliding around on my snow boots (which was actually quite fun). We had such a wonderful time. My new skates are supposed to show up today so now I say "BRING ON THE COLD!"
